SWEP and extended cold weather provision survey 2011/12

End of the cold weather period 2011/12

Homeless Link are collecting data from local authorities and service providers who delivered SWEP or extended cold weather provision during the winter 2011/12. Below is an online survey that we would like local authorities to complete. There is also a more extensive data collection form available if you have collected a detailed breakdown of clients who used your services during the cold weather period.

1. End of cold weather online survey - this survey is for local authorities to complete at the end of the cold weather period. The survey will close on Friday 18th March at 5.30pm. The survey aims to collect information about the cold weather response for homeless people in your area. We collected data similar to this last year from over 90 areas and hope to gather even more information 2011/12.  If you have any questions relating to the survey please contact: Jessica Plant

2. Spreadsheet template - for SWEP and/or extended cold weather provision is to help services collect basic details about who is using both SWEP provision and extended cold weather services such as winter shelters. If you have collected this data during 2011/12 please make sure you return this to Jessica Plant by Friday 18th march at 5.30pm.

This information will help us to build a better national picture of rough sleeping and homelessness, which will feed into Homeless Watch, our local intelligence project.

Any intelligence gathered about rough sleeping locally enables Homeless Link to build a better picture of what is happening on the ground and in turn support agencies and influence policy with a more accurate understanding of the needs of homeless people. Any data sent into Homeless Link will remain anonymous and services wil not be identified. For more information about data collection and data protection please read more about Critical Mass, our tool kit for collecting and using data in the sector.
