Engage to Change is an innovative Level Three Qualification for people working in homelessness services. Organisations can either become accredited centres to deliver the training or approach one of the organisations who are ready to deliver the course.
Developed through partnership between Homeless Link, Broadway and CIH, and funded by Communities and Local Government this programme is primarily designed for those who are operating within day centres, hostels, supported housing, outreach and other services supporting people on the journey from rough sleeping to independence. Delegates will need to have some degree of experience and regular client contact. It is designed to promote a ‘hearts and minds’ focus on provision of client centred services, individual self awareness and reflective practice and raise service expectations and standards.
The course is focused on practical barriers and issues around working with clients. It focuses on encouraging participants to assess and reflect on their practice, multi agency partnerships and knowledge against various models and approaches. First and foremost it is about supporting participants to be professional practitioners, looking at the way participants work with clients and ways to improve the effectiveness of their interventions.
The Engage to Change course consists of the following 4 modules;
Each module is delivered through a face to face training session and the completion of an assignment. These 4 sessions are delivered over a 6 month period. Learners can achieve a Level 3 CIH qualification. In order to do this, learners must attend the four modular sessions and complete all assignments satisfactorily.
