The Business Development Lead is an exciting new role and an opportunity to work for an organisation that makes a difference to the lives of local people and to the communities it serves.

Turning Tides mission is to end local homelessness in Worthing, Adur, Littlehampton, Horsham and Mid Sussex. The charity has grown significantly over the last five years to be able to achieve this. In 2018 we acquired accommodation in East Grinstead, opened a 34 bed assessment centre in Worthing and set up an assertive outreach service to rough sleepers across Mid Sussex. We have over 100 staff and 300 volunteers.

We are looking for someone with outstanding communication and writing ability, with experience of working in a business development or bid writing role within the voluntary, public or private sector.

You will be working closely with the Head of Development, to further scope and maximise opportunities for Turning Tides that will increasing our income generation. You will be responsible for researching new funding opportunities in order to continue to deliver new services and programmes to be able to meet our mission to end local homelessness.

You will lead on the completion of large trusts and grant applications, alongside writing significant proportions of tenders, ably incorporating feedback from colleagues as appropriate. The role will require creativity and innovative thinking, and the ability to bring internal teams and external stakeholders together to develop projects, proposals and ideas.

You must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage and plan your own workload and meet deadlines and targets is essential. Good IT Skills are a must.
