We represent and support over 480 organisations working with homeless people in the UK
Welcome to Homeless Link's media centre. On these pages you will find details of our campaigns, policy positions and facts and figures around homelessness and rough sleeping. We have spokespeople to speak to all of these issues.
Homeless Link is the only national network of homelessness charities in the country. Our 480+ member charities do the REAL hard work everyday with the 70,000 or so homeless people who access their services every day.
Following a campaign over three years by Homeless Link, we are delighted that the Government has committed to end rough sleeping by 2012, as has the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson. The goal is ambitious, but grounded in the success of the last ten years, when Government, charities and local councils have worked together to reduce the problem. Britain has achieved international recognition for its leadership in this area. Now these good foundations need reinvigorating and a practical and timed plan to focus on the goal of our country free from rough sleeping.
We are campaigning for an end to rough sleeping ‘once and for all’ in this country by the time the Olympics come to Britain in 2012y. Often homelessness is swept out of sight for the Olympics, this time we believe it can be different.
Homeless Link calls for 10 key challenges to be overcome. We have spokespeople available to speak to these issues.
We can provide facts, figures and commentary on homelessness and rough sleeping on a national basis. We can also help journalists and production companies to contact relevant agencies for their stories as well as provide case studies and images from London and across England, drawn from the extensive work of our member charities.
