We represent and support 500 organisations working with homeless people in the UK
One day conference that looked at the impact of the spending review and how to protect your service against the cuts.
As the new political landscape brings rapid change and the country experiences stringent public spending cuts, we hosted this event to assess the real impact of these cuts and look at what they mean to our sector. The conference:
We need to harness our knowledge, passion and resilience, that we have shown so often in tackling homelessness to face the challenges ahead and improve the long-term prospects for our clients.
The event took place four months after the Comprehensive Spending Review, to allow time for the implications of the review to be discussed and understood. The Spending Review covers the next 5 years and includes deep cuts in many areas of public spending. Those most relevant to homelessness include local government, housing investment, public sector job losses and welfare cuts. These changes are very likely to increase the flow into homelessness. It is imperative therefore that we adapt and plan for the future now so that we can manage these changes as they occur.
The following 5 core themes ran through the seminar programme; each one offering up to date advice and guidance, ensuring that delegates are equipped to deal with the changes their organisation will face over the coming months.
