Ethics 02

The Ethics Toolkit explores the legal and ethical considerations of using client data for research purposes. The tools were informed by our research into current consent and confidentiality practices in homelessness services, legal responsibilities, ethical frameworks, consultations with clients and staff, and practice in similar sectors and settings.

We have created a range of resources specifically for the differing needs of Clients, Frontline Staff and Organisations. The resources provide accessible and user friendly information for clients and frontline staff, and will assist homelessness services to identify and address a number of key legal and ethical issues.

Services need resources to survive, making funders one of your key stakeholders. The aim of this toolkit is to provide guidance and resources to help you collect the right information and use it in the most effective way with your current and prospective funders.

This includes using the information to influence the strategic direction of funders, evidence emerging needs and gaps that need funding, prove why you are the best service to meet those needs, and demonstrate the impact you are making.
