Services need resources to survive, making funders one of your key stakeholders. The aim of this toolkit is to provide guidance and resources to help you collect the right information and use it in the most effective way with your current and prospective funders. This includes using the information to influence the strategic direction of funders, evidence emerging needs and gaps that need funding, prove why you are the best service to meet those needs, and demonstrate the impact you are making.

Funding streams and opportunities can vary hugely depending on the type of service you provide and the clients you work with. For example, accommodation-based services are likely to secure funding from different places than day centres. In this toolkit we consider the principles for all services and also highlight additional resources for understanding the needs of funders around data collection, analysis and measurement of projects.
