Effective recruitment and management of volunteers is becoming increasingly important within homelessness services. This course will help you to ensure that your volunteers are equipped to deliver the best possible standards of client service.

  • have explored the needs of your organisation in relation to volunteers
  • know how to improve and develop volunteer projects
  • be able to place advertisements for volunteers and design role descriptions
  • be able to plan an effective volunteer recruitment campaign
  • know how to recruiting and inducting volunteers effectivly
  • be able to produce, and have the necessary content for, a volunteer induction handbook
  • know how your organisation can take steps to retain volunteers
  • understand good practice in training and managing volunteers
  • be aware of the legal issues around working with volunteers
