Annual Review 2018

Thursday, 20 September 2018 - 2:40pm

Homeless Link’s Annual Review provides crucial evidence about the state of the homelessness sector and is the only data source of its kind available on homelessness services in England.

This month, we start collecting information for our annual review. With the help of our members and other frontline services across the country, the data we collect is vital for painting a picture of current service provision for people experiencing homelessness, the needs of the sector and the people that it is supporting. The Annual Review is unique and provides the only comprehensive source of data on the single homelessness sector.

Support for Single Homeless People in England

Over the past decade, the findings from our ‘Support for Single Homeless People in England’ reports have informed practice and policy development, providing essential evidence about service availability and how the sector is adapting to change. For example, they have been used to inform recent local and national decisions on commissioning and the future funding of supported housing.

With increased focus on ending rough sleeping from the Government and other decision-makers, the data collected this year will be invaluable for showing what is happening in homelessness services across England and supporting the sector’s future campaigning and service development for people experiencing homelessness.

Members’ feedback

The research would not be possible without the input of staff and individuals from frontline services who find time in their busy schedules to answer our questions and complete the research. This year, we have listened to our members’ feedback and have adapted the survey questions to make the survey shorter and easier to complete.

We will also be conducting the research via telephone interviews rather than an online survey. This year we have employed a company called Marketing Means to help us with the research.

For any questions, please email Jennifer Harris from our research team or call 020 7840 4418.

Annual review front cover

Our 2017 review of the homelessness sector analyses the capacity, support and services available to single people who become homeless in England. It looks at the changing demand for those services, as well as changes to funding and provision, and examines topical issues faced by the sector.
