Ending Women’s Homelessness grants programme now open for first stage submissions

The Ending Women’s Homelessness grants programme is now open for submissions.

A key aim of this fund is to build capacity for gender and trauma-informed services and improve partnerships between homelessness and specialist women’s sector organisations.

Grants are available for registered charities or registered not-for-profit company in England working with women who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, and can meet the eligibility criteria and deliver outcomes outlined on our project page.

Decisions will be made by a cross-sector all-women grants panel. Panel members are:

  • Selina Hanley, Woman with Lived Experience
  • Polly Neate, CEO, Shelter

  • Tabitha O’Brien Butcher, Partnership Manager, Making Every Adult Matter (MEAM)
  • Jemima Olchawski, CEO, Agenda                   
  • Laura Seebohm, Executive Director, Changing Lives
  • Anne Taylor, Woman with Lived Experience

Who can apply?

Registered charities and registered not-for-profit company delivering housing and/or support services directly to women who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, and that meet the eligibility criteria. For small grants, only organisations with a turnover of under £2 million can apply. For full details of the criteria, visit the project page.

What size grants are available?

There are two strands, with awards totalling £1.85m:

  • Large grants of up to £100,000 – open to all charities, with an final deadline of 22nd August 2019
  • Small grants of up to £30,000 – open to charities with turnover of less than £2 million, with an final deadline of 17th September 2019

We expect to make around 15 large and 10 small grants.

Application process

There are two stages for applications to the Ending Women’s Homelessness grants programme. You will first need to complete a Stage One expression of interest.

Stage One of the Ending Women’s Homelessness grants programme opens on Friday 28th June 2019 and the deadline is 5pm on Wednesday 31st July 2019.  

During this time, Stage One applications will be assessed on a 10 working day rolling basis. Access to Stage Two will be provided to applicants approved at Stage One. No applications will be accepted after the final deadline.

How will applications be assessed?

Applicants will be assessed according to how well they meet the Stage One criteria and the clarity and credibility of their plans. Applicants successful at Stage One will be given further guidance on the Stage Two process.
