Homeless England Directory and Database – A New Look
Today Homeless Link’s database and directory of homelessness services, or 'Homeless England', is being reintroduced with new branding.
The Knowledge Centre of Homelessness
As the only national database of Homelessness services, Homeless England’s aim is to be the ‘Knowledge Centre’ for the homelessness sector.
The database features a range of support services including, but not limited to, accommodation, day centres, advice, and local authority housing options. Professionals and the public can find local services in their area by using the directory search function.
As well as providing a vital resource for people at risk of, or experiencing homelessness, Homeless England is used to gather evidence to advise policymakers and assist vital work in the homelessness sector.
During the height of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, our data was used by the Ministry of Housing Communities and Local Government to inform the ‘Everyone-In’ policy, as well as helping Public Health England plan for the COVID-19 vaccination programme for those experiencing homelessness, by using our data to map homeliness service provision against COVID-19 vaccination hubs.
The ‘annual review of single homelessness support in England’ uses our database to select its research sample, read more about it here and keep an eye out for the soon-to-be published 2020 edition.
Today we launch our Homeless England Brand. Our brand is designed to give an identity to our database that is bold and distinct from Homeless Link, while fitting seamlessly alongside Homeless Link’s firmly established branding.
We hope to establish a recognisable brand, connect with new audiences and reflect Homeless England’s dual purpose as a directory to assist people who need to find help and as an inventory of homelessness services for the sector.
