Local Authority teams have limited time to engage with people experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness. It’s vital that they make best use of their interactions in order to build trust, identify key issues, collect information and agree actions. We recognise that staff will be using communication skills every day, so this session is an opportunity to consolidate those skills and to reflect on practice.
This course covers effective communication in a Local Authority setting, including personal preparation, power dynamics, communication strategies, and the psychological impact of physical environments. It provides an introduction to positive, solution-focused communication.
