Trauma-informed care (TIC) is a relationship-based approach which can be adopted by organisations to improve awareness of trauma and its impact, to ensure that the services provided offer effective support and, above all, that they do not re-traumatise those accessing or working in services.

Many organisations have accessed Homeless Link’s training on trauma but we know that there is a need for more information and support to enable trauma-informed approaches to be embedded within services, and across organisations.

Over the last year, Homeless Link has worked to develop a framework to support voluntary and community organisations within the homelessness sector to implement trauma-informed care in practice. The framework is a reflective tool which recognises the diversity of services and will enable frontline staff, managers, and leaders to consider where to make changes.

This free webinar will:

  • Provide an overview of research into the levels of trauma for people experiencing homelessness
  • Provide an introduction to TIC and what research says about barriers to implementation
  • Launch our practice development framework for homelessness services
  • Discuss Homeless Link’s general election asks in relation to TIC
  • Launch a new TIC consultancy offer for homelessness organisations
  • Provide an opportunity for a Q&A with the speakers.
