This course will have two main focuses. First we will look at the dynamics of domestic abuse, helping you to understand what domestic abuse looks like and how it impacts on service users. The course also aims to increase your confidence in responding to domestic abuse, giving you practical tools and skills to support service users, reduce risk and increase safety.
Using a range of case studies and real life examples of service users who are living in supported accommodation, or are street homeless, the course will explore the complexities of identifying and responding to domestic abuse in these settings, especially where service users are likely to have multiple needs. Delegates will leave the course with practical tips and tools that they can use in their everyday working practice.

Please note: due to the sensitive nature of this training course, delegates might feel anxious or upset by some of the course content if it relates to their own experiences. It is essential that they are aware of the course content beforehand, in order to be emotionally prepared for the day. Please ensure that all delegates read this course outline ahead of the training. They will be able to step out during the session if needed. There is no requirement for delegates to share personal experiences on this course.
