Today, we launch our annual Excellence Awards. Our awards celebrate the best of the homelessness and supported housing sectors.
Excellence Awards 2021
Each year we receive hundreds of entries that showcase the innovative and impactful work that is being carried out by people across the homelessness sector.
The Excellence Awards are free to enter, and open to all Homeless Link members. In 2021, we have updated the award categories to reflect our new strategic plan Shaping the Future Together. These new categories have been designed to recognise the breadth and depth the work our members do to work towards ending homelessness and achieving positive futures for people who are homeless or vulnerably housed.
1. Home Safe
This award recognises high quality, affordable accommodation options for individuals or couples experiencing rough sleeping or homelessness that enable them to have the right to open and close their own front door and feel safe and secure in their own accommodation. It will reward those that can demonstrate how their offer is sustainable and can be replicated by others.
2. People First
This award celebrates projects or services that are inclusive and compassionate and that ensure the individuals you are supporting are at the centre of what you do. You are providing the right support to meet their specific, diverse needs and aspirations and improve their well-being, and can evidence that this is ultimately supporting them out of homelessness.
3. Prevention Into Action
This award acknowledges projects that are committed to preventing homelessness from occurring in the first place or are preventing prolonged periods of rough sleeping or homelessness from happening. This category also recognises the power of cross-sector collaborative working as a means of preventing homelessness and improving outcomes.
4. A Stronger Voice
This award honours a person, group or service that is using their knowledge, experience or passion to highlight the true nature and scale of homelessness. Their credibility is challenging the systems that aren’t working for people experiencing homelessness and they can demonstrate the impact this is having at either a local or national level.
The awards offer a great opportunity to raise your profile as an award-winner, all winners will receive a trophy and a certificate to celebrate their success.
