Housing law: tenancies and licences

This course will equip staff with the required knowledge, skills and confidence to enforce occupancy agreements, but can also be tailored for staff supporting clients who are having enforcement action taken against them.

Who is this course for?

Housing officers who are new to housing, those assuming additional responsibilities and those requiring a refresher course.

What will you learn?

By the end of the course participants will:

  • Be able to describe the properties of different types of occupancy agreements used in rented housing
  • Know how landlord and residents responsibilities are reflected in the terms of occupancy agreement
  • Understand what behaviour constitutes a breaches of an occupancy agreements and what formal action this instigates, including notices and legal proceedings
  • Appreciate how legislation applies to those not using a property as their only or main home and what happens to former resident belongings

Duration

Face to face: One-day course
Online: Three 1.5 hour modules delivered over three dates 

Costs for one full-day face to face course or three 1.5 hour online modules

This course can be booked for a team of up to 16 for face to face training or up to 20 for online training

Associate members face to face: £945 plus Trainer expenses
Associate members online: £970 - no Trainer expenses
