We have extended the deadline for this year’s Homeless Link Excellence Awards. Apply by 10am on Monday 13 May to win £3000 to spend on staff wellbeing and training.

What are the Excellence Awards?

This year, as homelessness organisations continue to tackle a soar in demand, it feels more important than ever to highlight the tireless and inspirational work going on across the country to ensure people have a place to call home and the support they need to keep it.

Homeless Link's annual award scheme celebrates the best of the homelessness and supported housing sectors. The awards are open exclusively to Homeless Link members, highlighting the innovative and impactful work of frontline homelessness services of all shapes and sizes across the country.

Last year’s winners included a project providing trauma-informed women-only accommodation, a multi-disciplinary team with a person-centred approach to individuals experiencing severe multiple disadvantage, collaborative health and wellbeing fairs improving access to healthcare, and a team supporting people who are sleeping rough and are victims of modern slavery.

This year we’ve updated this year's award categories to better recognise the wide range of services our members deliver. Categories include: Demonstrating impact, Excellent support, Innovative housing, Successful partnerships and Workforce development.

Why enter?

The awards offer a fantastic opportunity to raise your profile as an award winner and celebrate the successes of your team.

What's more, we are thrilled this year that St Martin-in-the-Fields-Charity is supporting the awards including providing £3000 for the winner of each category. This financial boost is dedicated to investing in staff wellbeing and fostering continuous learning opportunities, recognising the vital role that frontline workers play in delivering effective support to people experiencing homelessness.

Rick Henderson, CEO of Homeless Link, shared more about the impact:

“I am immensely grateful for St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity’s support of this year’s Excellence Awards. Their support helps us celebrate frontline homelessness organisations' achievements and empowers our sector to prioritise staff wellbeing and development, strengthening our collective ability to provide effective support to those experiencing or at risk of homelessness."

Natalie King, Head of Development at St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity and Excellence Awards judge explained why they’re funding the awards:

“St Martin-in-the-Fields Charity are very excited to be supporting the Excellence Awards 2024. The awards are a great opportunity to give recognition to the work and dedication of teams across the sector supporting people experiencing homelessness. In increasingly challenging circumstances this is a great place to showcase innovative, trauma-informed and inclusive approaches to providing support.”

Past winners also shared the impact winning has had on them and why others should apply:

Providence Row, 2023 Winner:

‘’Our triumph in receiving the Homeless Link Award has been a catalyst for significant advancements in our health initiatives. This accolade has not only elevated our reputation but has also secured funding for launching our Nutrition Project pilot. This project is aimed at providing tailored nutritional guidance, particularly for individuals grappling with substance use issues, while also enhancing Providence Row's catering practices and fostering nutritional awareness among our stakeholders."

Adullam Homes, 2022 Winner:

“Entering the Homeless Link Excellence awards is extremely important. The wellbeing boost it gives to everyone involved in the projects concerned is phenomenal. Even if you don’t win, sharing the news internally that a project is being highlighted at a national level makes everyone feel very proud.”
