Safeguarding is a statutory process which protects an adult’s right to live in safety, free from abuse and neglect. There have been 48 Safeguarding Adult Reviews into the deaths of people who have died whilst sleeping rough and there is much learning about what steps can be taken to prevent similar deaths from occurring elsewhere.

This webinar will cover:

  • Learning from Safeguarding Adult Reviews of people who were homeless
  • Practical recommendations on what can be done to reduce harm and death
  • The process of making effective Safeguarding referrals and escalation processes
  • Where to go for more information

Speakers will include:

Professor Michael Preston-Shoot, Emeritus Professor of Social Work at University of Bedfordshire and independent Safeguarding Adults Boards chair, Joint Coordinator of the National SAB Chairs’ Network and an Adult Safeguarding Consultant.

Bruno Ornelas, Head of Homelessness at Concrete.
