Trauma-informed: In Practice

Tuesday, 11 January 2022
Online | 9.30am-4.00pm

Designed as a follow-up course to Trauma-informed: Theory and Principles, this course provides frontline workers with an evidence-based approach to working in a trauma-informed way.

The course builds on the theory and evidence with practical responses to working with people with complex needs who have been affected by trauma.

Who is this course for?

This course is designed for people that have attended the Trauma-informed: Theory & Principles course and wish to build their knowledge and skills with practical tools.

The course will cover:

  • Application of Trauma-Informed Approaches to working cultures – what has been achieved so far and what challenges remain
  • Developing your ‘Trauma-Informed toolkit’ – practical and impactful tools
  • Exploring key concepts from Trauma-Informed psychological models
  • Responding to service users in crisis: Validation & Distress Tolerance techniques
  • Team formulation as a response to complex needs
  • Development of individually tailored goals and actions to embed practice

Please note that, due to the sensitive nature of this training course, delegates might feel anxious or upset by some of the course content if it relates to their own experiences. They must be aware of the course content beforehand, to be emotionally prepared for the day. Please ensure that all delegates read this course outline ahead of the training. They will be able to step out during the session if needed. There is no requirement for delegates to share personal experiences on this course.

This course consists of 3 live interactive training modules, which will take place during one day, with breaks. When you sign up, you will be signing up for all 3 modules.
