London Outreach Workers' Community of Practice: No Recourse to Public Funds (NRPF)

Wednesday, 26 February 2020
London | 12.00pm-4.00pm | Free event

Join us to explore what is out there that can help Outreach Workers to support people in this vulnerable situation.

Who is this event for?

London Outreach frontline workers.

What is the event about?

People with no recourse to public funds are at high risk of homelessness and destitution because they cannot access mainstream housing and welfare benefits, and are usually not permitted to undertake employment. While this client group forms only a small proportion of clients accessing services, many more are ‘hidden homeless’, and the small number of services offering specialist support experience high levels of demand.

During the event, we will hear from specialist organisations, but there will also be an opportunity to share good practice and learn from each other.

A Community of Practice (CoP) brings together those with common interests and goals to collaboratively find solutions to the issues faced by frontline staff when supporting those experiencing homelessness and associated needs.

Through our CoPs we aim to:

  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and social learning between RSI coordinators

  • Provide a safe venue for people to listen, reflect and receive feedback

  • Allow people to hear about new evidence, learning and practice

  • Try out small changes that encourage innovation

Communities of Practice work by bringing together the considerable expertise and knowledge drawn from your daily experience in delivering your role. Through these we identify challenges, solutions and ensure that the knowledge is shared widely.

There is no charge to attend this event.
