Young trans people may find themselves experiencing homelessness for a multitude of reasons, however, their homelessness often intersects with their gender identity. How can the homelessness sector better support young trans people to navigate complex systems and pathways to stability?

October 2021 saw the launch of new guidance co-written with akt. This guidance provides an outline of how services can adapt their offer to create safe and welcoming services for young trans people.

Following on from this guidance please join us for this youth homelessness online network co-facilitated with akt. This even will provide an opportunity for professionals to come together and consider how they can adapt their offer to create safe and welcoming services for young trans people.

Register in advance here

We will hear from Faz Bukhari, akt youth ambassador and trustee, alongside akt caseworkers, who will speak about their advocacy work and how individuals can best support young trans people accessing their services.

This network event will be an opportunity to:

  • Explore together the implications for your service and how to overcome any potential barriers
  • Reflect on your own practice, learn from peers and hear from experts in the sector
  • Share resources, tools, and information

This free event will take place 10.30 am-1.00pm, on Tuesday 16th November. Please register in advance
