Our quarterly online research forum, facilitated by Homeless Link’s research team, is for anyone involved in conducting research around homelessness. The Forum aims to create opportunities for joint learning and discussion, particularly in ways that lead to practical insights that can be directly applied to participants' work in the homelessness and adjacent sectors and help develop our practice. This is also a space for people to connect and support each other.
This session marks the second in our series on AI in homelessness research and will explore the application and use of AI in qualitative research.
As AI becomes more visible in the homelessness sector, this series aims to explore what AI is, how it is being used in social research and what opportunities, risks and concerns are emerging. There is increasing coverage of the uses of AI in the broader homelessness system, such as early prediction and prevention and support coordination, for example, but limited discussion around the uses of AI in conducting homelessness research. We hope this series will balance exploring big questions with some grounded real-life examples of application and methodological practise.
In this session we’ll hear from researchers who will share about the application of AI in their qualitative pieces of research. The panel includes:
