Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Ashiana provides temporary refuge accommodation across six schemes. We have 29 bed spaces for South Asian, Turkish and Middle Eastern Women between the ages of 16-35, who are experiencing all forms VAWG; including domestic violence, sexual violence, harmful practices, such as forced marriage, honour-based violence and female genital mutilation. Referral criteria would also include women with no recourse to public funds, women who are homeless as a result of domestic violence, women with low/medium support needs.

Alcohol dependant individuals. Drug dependant individuals. Needs too high.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept self referrals and referrals from any agency.

Referral procedure

Initial contact by phone Mon-Fri 9.30am-5pm. Need to speak to applicant as well as agency. If there is a vacancy and applicant meets referral criteria, place offered immediately. Referral form completed on phone.

Support and accommodation


Support offered

3 staff on site Mon-Fri 9.30am-5pm. Keywork system, weekly meetings. Care plans with agreed outcomes, reviewed monthly. Provide short term/crisis counselling, advice on benefits, health care, education, employment, applications for rehousing and accessing legal advice. Workshops covering sexuality, domestic violence etc.
