Single homeless people with support needs around mental health, including those with dual diagnosis of mental health and drug/alcohol problems. Priority to those with Wandsworth connection.

Who we cannot help

Those with a recent history of arson or serious violence.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept referrals from named agencies in Wandsworth. Priority to Wandsworth Homeless Persons Unit for the Friends House Project (dual diagnosis project) for 14 days. Other referrals from local CMHT, DAAT and other local agencies.

Referral procedure

Phone Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. Referral form. Risk assessment and other reports if appropriate eg CMHT, social work, drug/alcohol team. Further assessment at interview. Visit to project.

Support and accommodation


Support offered

8 staff on-site Mon-Fri 9.30am-5.30pm in 5 houses (late cover twice a week until 8pm at Friends House, the Dual Diagnosis project), also alternate Sat, emergency on-call system. Keywork system, monthly meetings. Support plans with 6 monthly reviews. Staff offer support with mental health issues, daily living skills, emotional issues, employment and training. Participation in programme of support is a requirement of the tenancy agreement.
