Homelessness services are well aware that refugees often struggle with accessing decent housing. Every year on 20th June, we mark World Refugee Day. An international day when we celebrate the strength and courage of people who have fled their home country due to violence or persecution. This day gives us the opportunity to focus on how we should build empathy and understanding for those who have made the difficult decision to seek sanctuary in the UK.
