Up to £250,000 available to help communities come together
The Common Ground Award 2026–2027, launched by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government, is a fantastic opportunity for charities, CICs and community organisations in England that are helping build stronger, more connected and resilient communities.
This is capital funding for the facilities, spaces and equipment that bring people from different backgrounds together.
The award can contribute towards:
- Essential equipment, such as furniture or laptops
- Spaces that enable people from different backgrounds to meet and build relationships
- Projects that encourage social mixing and reduce divisions
- Work that tackles prejudice, discrimination, hatred or tensions between communities
- New builds, refurbishment or expansion of facilities
Funding: A total of £2.5 million is available
- Individual organisations: £20,000–£50,000
- Exceptional individual applications may request up to £100,000
- Consortium applications: £100,000–£250,000
Funding must be spent within the 2026–2027 financial year, with delivery planned to complete by 31 March 2027.
Deadline: 12 October 2026
Eligibility: Organisations must be based and operating in England, have charitable, benevolent or philanthropic purposes, and have an annual income below £5 million. Building connections across different communities must be a core focus of the organisation’s work.
