We are delighted to welcome HealthBus as a new member of Homeless Link!
HealthBus Trust is an award-winning, CQC-registered charity delivering specialist nurse-led healthcare to people experiencing homelessness across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP).
"We exist because too many people are unable to access mainstream healthcare due to trauma, stigma, poor mental health, addiction, exploitation, lack of identification, or the instability that comes with homelessness. As a result, serious physical and mental health needs often go untreated until they become critical."
HealthBus seeks to bridge that gap by taking healthcare directly to people through trusted outreach and drop-in provision. They provide compassionate, non-judgemental care in places where people feel safer to engage. This approach is designed to help people to address acute and chronic ill health earlier, reduces reliance on crisis services, and supports wider recovery, stability, and movement away from the streets.
"Homelessness and poor health are deeply interconnected. Without accessible healthcare, people struggle to engage with accommodation, sustain tenancies, or recover well. HealthBus responds to that reality by providing healthcare that is relational, flexible, and designed around people who are often excluded from traditional systems."
