Homeless Link is committed to Equalities, Diversity and Inclusion, as shown in our EDI Strategy and relevant policies. We agree that we must recognise and value difference and recognise and redress inequality and disadvantage.
One aim from our strategy is to be significantly more diverse and supportive as an employer who strongly champions EDI to members, partners and other homelessness organisations and policy makers.
However, we acknowledge that as an organisation we are on a journey and have much to learn. We recognise that the sector we support and represent – made up of almost 900 organisations across the country – have a way to go on their own EDI journeys.
Therefore, we specifically encourage those from marginalised communities, particularly Black, Asian and minority ethnic groups, LGBTQIA+ community, and people with disabilities, to attend this event.
Homeless Link actively makes conscious efforts to ensure our work (including our events) is inclusive for everyone, including those from marginalised communities. As a homelessness organisation, we also understand the trauma attached to a number of topics that we run events on. Please be assured that we will guide you through how we have accommodated for these situations at the beginning of the event.
If you have any concerns or queries, please do not hesitate to contact our Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Manager, Pavan Nagra and we will do our best to accommodate you to work towards making our events more inclusive for everyone.
