This practice forum will explore the concept of trauma-informed safety within the context of Day Services.
Day Services aim to create safe spaces for all those who access them. However it can be challenging to create a calm environment whilst supporting people in acute crisis who may express anger or frustration.
This session will focus on applying trauma-informed practices in Day Services to create safe inclusive spaces and reduce the need to exclude people. We will hear from two speakers with experience of working in a trauma-informed way and spend time reflecting how how you can apply these ideas within your own service.
This free Practice Forum will include group discussion and breakout sessions as well as speaker presentations.
Speakers:
- Angie Allgood, Director, NEWway Project
- Second Speaker TBC.
