Poor nutrition is a significant challenge for people experiencing homelessness, and can lead to weakened immunity, delayed recovery from illness and risk of depression and anxiety.
By considering nutrition as part of homelessness support, services can improve the health and wellbeing of their clients, aiding recovery and move-on from homelessness.
Join Homeless Link and Providence Row as we launch place-based research that aims to enhance nutritional health and recovery among people experiencing homelessness and using drugs and alcohol, and which examines current food provision, and explores gaps and opportunities in access to food and nutrition.
The webinar will outline practical actions that homelessness staff can take to improve access to and awareness of healthy food and nutrition for the people they support, through newly produced animations. The event will finish with a Q&A session.
Speakers include:
- Neal McCardle, Head of Learning and Training Service, Providence Row
- Hannah Style RD, Professional Development Lead Dietitian, East London Foundation Trust
- Dr Raquel Gracia, Registered Associate Nutritionist working with Providence Row
- Debra Hertzberg, Senior Research Manager, Homeless Link
