Accessing mental health support for people experiencing homelessness can be a challenge with multiple barriers including accessing assessments and appointments, meeting criteria for statutory services and dual diagnosis. Different approaches have attempted to address this ranging from commissioning specialist workers to setting up new forms of partnerships.
This workshop-style event will explore ways of accessing statutory mental health support for people experiencing homelessness and is for anyone looking to explore potential solutions that might work within their organisation or area.
Please note that this is not a training course but a workshop and discussion group for those working in this area.
During the forum, you will:
- Take part in discussions with other organisations about the challenges faced in accessing mental health support for people experiencing homelessness.
- Hear from organisations about their approaches to working collaboratively with mental health services.
- Discover techniques in innovative thinking
- Begin to generate potential solutions that can be applied within your organisation or area.
Homeless Link's Innovation Forums are designed to build the capacity of organisations to create solutions to some of the key challenges they face. They are spaces where professionals can come together and use innovative thinking techniques to begin to generate new ideas.
Join us and be part of our new programme finding ways to unlock the most challenging issues faced by people experiencing homelessness and the organisations that support them.
