An interactive session with Homeless Link, English Rural, and the homelessness team from Calderdale in West Yorkshire looking at the team's work to reduce the number and length of temporary accommodation stays for people experiencing homelessness through targeted prevention work and growing their use of PRS.
We will hear from Danielle Wilson, the Operational Homelessness Manager and Cath Miller who is the Strategic Homelessness Manager at Calderdale Council in West Yorkshire. Together they oversee all the teams within the Homelessness Service and work collaboratively with their colleague Nicola Keyser-Forest, the Homelessness Service Manager, with the aim of reducing the number of households in temporary B&B accommodation. This is achieved by focusing on prevention and by also implementing new ways of working within the frontline teams, in particular a new and growing focus on PRS accommodation as a route out of temporary accommodation.
