What support can non-immigration workers provide to non-UK rough sleepers?
This training is for any workers or volunteers who are based in London and work with migrants experiencing homelessness.
The training covers what practical support those who are not immigration practitioners can provide to those who are homeless for immigration related reasons.
Topics covered include:
- What is "regulated" immigration advice and casework?
- What kind of support can non-immigration workers offer to homeless migrants to help them through the immigration system?
- Finding immigration advice & representation
- Gathering evidence
- Accessing available services
The training will not cover cases where immigration status is not the key factor in homelessness (e.g. refugee homelessness) but will touch on issues around termination of asylum support.
This training is funded by the GLA and is therefore only available to those working with homeless migrants in the Greater London area.
