This course is designed for staff in homelessness and migrant sectors who want to develop their knowledge and understanding of trauma.
There'll be small group activities, as well as time for questions and discussion. The course workbook includes links to further information and resources.

This course is designed for London-based staff in homelessness and migrant sectors.
Part of our fully funded Supporting non-UK nationals training programme, supported by the Mayor of London. It is free to access for London-based organisations and you can join this session on it's own or along with other courses on the the programme.
What does this session cover?
This session provides an introduction to support front-line practitioners and volunteers to work in a trauma informed manner with people from refugee, asylum seeking, and migrant communities experiencing homelessness or housing difficulties.
This session aims to:
- Increase understanding of lived experiences of migration, homelessness, and trauma.
- Give an overview of various immigration status and how organisational systems can increase trauma.
- Explore how to practically apply the SAMHSA principles of trauma informed care in this context.
- Consider the link between safeguarding and trauma informed practice.
- Provide resources to assist continued learning and understanding.
