Young single homeless people aged 16-25 with a local connection to Greater Manchester or Cheshire East area.

Referral agencies will receive training about the level of client need. Please contact if you are unsure.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept referrals from local agencies that work with vulnerable young people and have received training about Nightstops. Agencies interested in being added to the list should contact the project. The young person can also self-refer.

Referral procedure

Phone Mon-Fri 9am-3.30pm. Referral form with risk and needs assessment completed by agency. Require two references from people or agencies that have known the young person 3 months or longer and relevant background information about housing, physical and mental health, substance use and criminal history. The applicant will also need to sign a guest agreement with the referrer.

Support and accommodation


Support offered

2.5 members of staff, available 37.5 hours per week. Provide support and basic signposting. Young person is expected to return to referring agency for ongoing support and referrals to longer term accommodation. Our volunteer hosts provide an evening meal, breakfast and a packed lunch. Access to their washing facilities and a listening ear. We have an on call service that provides support and advice to hosts and guests outside of office hours

Units

The guest will have a room to themselves in a volunteer hosts home. Number fluctuates on a daily basis so unable to provide figures

Transport is usually provided to the host's home. Hosts are located throughout GM so routes vary depending on who is available
