Who do we help?

Single homeless people with support needs. The project can accept people with learning difficulties, mental health problems, drug/alcohol dependency and a history of offending. Priority given to those with a local connection to Newcastle or Gateshead.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Accept referrals from Gateway in Newcastle and Portal in Gateshead only. No self referrals.

Referral procedure

Agencies should phone or call in Mon-Fri 9am-5pm or write. Application form. Interview. Require proof of ID. Prefer additional information and input from referral agency.

Support and accommodation


Support offered

11 full time and 1 part time staff available at off-site office Mon-Fri 9am-5pm, with daily visits to residents. Emergency on-call system. Keywork system (11 residents per worker), meetings for at least 1 hour each week, plus group work. Action plans with agreed outcomes and input from specialist agencies as appropriate, reviewed quarterly. Support around independent living skills and training.
