Who is the project for?

Who do we help?

Single homeless people who have low support needs. Successful referrals require applicants to meet the local connection criteria of being resident in Kingston upon Thames for six out of twelve months or three out of five years.

Who we cannot help

History of arson, violence, or sex offence. Chemically dependent individuals.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Only accept referrals from KCAH's own housing advice service, RB Kingston Housing Advice, YMCA Surbiton, SPEAR Hostel and Probation Service. Self referrals must attend KCAH's housing advice sessions.

Referral procedure

Applicants attend KCAH's housing advice sessions Mon-Fri 10am-1pm at above address. Application form. Interview. Applicants must give background about their homelessness and outline plans for obtaining housing and work. (No change to above) Interviews with prospecting tenants are now held remotely with an Access Project member of staff. Tenancy sign-ups are conducted by our Operational Director, as he works within the KCAH Office.

Support and accommodation


Support offered

3 staff available at off-site office Mon-Fri 10am-5pm. Each house visited weekly. Support plans set targets for each resident to get back into work and secure long term housing. Residents are expected to develop these plans themselves. Staff offer basic advice and support and a housing management service.
