Single homeless people and homeless families who are being assessed by Braintree District Council as to whether they have a duty to house them. All applicants must have a local connection. Can accept couples.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Only accept referrals from Braintree District Council.

Referral procedure

The Council's Housing Service is open Mon-Thurs 9am-5.30, Fri 9am-5pm. Application form, interview and risk assessment. Council will require proof of ID.

Support and accommodation


Support offered

Staff available on site Monday - Friday between 8am and 7pm. Out of hours emergency on-call system. Key worker system with support meetings. Provide advice and support around move on accommodation, money management and signposting to specialist agencies.
