How to get a referral

Referral agencies

All referrals are made via Portsmouth City Council.

Referral procedure

Portsmouth City Council will determine initial suitability for relevant service and refer directly to the preferred provider. Potential clients are invited to view the accommodation and encouraged to meet staff before a tenancy sign up date will be discussed . Support workers will review the initial referral and assessment with the client directly, ensuring that it is the most suitable accommodation for the client whilst noting changes to risk and/ or circumstances.

Support and accommodation


Support offered

A team of 7 full- time Homeless Recovery Workers cover 7 days a week on a rota system. A team of designated Homeless Recovery Workers provide waking night cover and client support. Engagement in support sessions forms part of tenancy agreement and regular support sessions are offered. Staff can sign post directly to specialist local voluntary and statutory agencies who can offer support with substance misuse, mental and/ or physical health issues, social inclusion, advocacy, benefits, budgeting and housing advice. Peer led support and advocacy workers attend the service on a weekly basis to offer informal support to clients.

39 single bedrooms over 2 floors. 2 ground floor bedrooms are designated for clients with physical health/ mobility issues and have en-suite shower/ toilet facilities.
