How to get a referral

Referral agencies

All vacancies are gate-kept by West Berkshire Council. Clients must present at the housing options service to be assessed for eligibility, and can be supported by an agency, friend or family.

Referral procedure

If homeless, individuals must present at the Housing Options office at West House, West Street, Newbury. West Berkshire Council will assess whether an individual is eligible for an emergency bed space, and whether they have a duty to provide a hostel placement. Any agencies wishing to refer their client to the hostel must also go through West Berkshire Council.
