How to get a referral
All vacancies are gate-kept by West Berkshire Council. Clients must present at the housing options service to be assessed for eligibility, and can be supported by an agency, friend or family.
If homeless, individuals must present at the Housing Options office at West House, West Street, Newbury. West Berkshire Council will assess whether an individual is eligible for an emergency bed space, and whether they have a duty to provide a hostel placement. Any agencies wishing to refer their client to the hostel must also go through West Berkshire Council.
Length of stay
Support and accommodation
Various agencies work alongside us and occasionally run services from our premises, currently we have police officer offering their services from our building, there is no guarantee of how long these may continue but this is an example.
Newbury Train station is a 15 minute walk away. The number 1 bus stops outside the service.
