Who do we help?

Homeless people aged 16-25 who have lived/worked in the Mendip area for at least 6 months or with family connections, including care leavers. The residency condition is waived if under 18 or fleeing violence.

How to get a referral

Referral agencies

Local housing department, SCC.

Referral procedure

Agency referrals only. Phone Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. Scheme locates a vacancy and informs the client via the referral agency. Require National Insurance number. Triage form and risk assessment carried out prior to placement.

Support and accommodation


Support offered

5 full time staff, available Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. Staff provide support with benefit claims, refer to other agencies, help find move-on accommodation and provide a mediation service. Residents must meet with staff to look for move-on accommodation during the course of their stay. Local authority assessments for under 18s. Advocacy and referrals to Connexions service and other specialist agencies.
