The National Lottery Community Fund is offering funding for projects that help young people in England take part in place-based youth social action.
In applications, organisations must demonstrate how their projects:
- create place-based youth social action opportunities for young people
- will help young people get involved in social action throughout their lives, even after the funding ends
- will reach young people who have not taken part in regular social action activities
- will continue beyond the funding period
- involve the voices of young people, who should also be part of the applicant organization
Projects are expected to support young people aged up to 20, or up to 25 for those with additional support needs.
See what the fund is hoping to support for details.
Applicants are expected to match the funding they receive. The minimum amount available for match funding is £200,000. For example, if an organisation receives £200,000, they must contribute at least £200,000 of their own resources.
In-kind contributions may also be considered to help meet this requirement. These could include non-cash contributions with monetary value, such as goods, services, equipment or use of facilities.
This funding is provided by the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) and The National Lottery Community Fund.
Total available £3 million. The fund expects to support 4-6 projects.
Application deadline The deadline to submit an expression of interest (EOI) is 24 September 2025.
