Homeless Link’s Going Beyond podcast is back and for this series, we’ve had the pleasure of partnering with Stonewall Housing to discuss LGBTQ+ people’s experiences of homelessness. In this series, we’ll be exploring the challenges LGBTQ+ people face when it comes to homelessness, the barriers to accessing support, and what mainstream services can do to become more inclusive.
In the first episode of the series, we speak with Steven McIntyre (he/him), CEO of Stonewall Housing. Steven shares what the data currently tells us about the prevalence of homelessness amongst the LGBTQ+ community and why LGBTQ+ people are disproportionately affected. We discuss the underlying causes, including catalyst events, which can often lead to experiences of homelessness.
