Award categories

Our award categories are based on our strategic plan and recognise the breadth and depth the work our members do to work towards ending homelessness and achieving positive futures for people who are homeless or vulnerably housed. If you are a Homeless Link member and have a ground-breaking project to share, you can enter one or more of the categories below.

Home Safe

Do you provide accommodation that you are proud of? Ensuring there is a supply of accessible and affordable housing is critical to preventing and resolving homelessness. This award recognises high quality, affordable accommodation options for individuals or couples experiencing rough sleeping or homelessness.

We are looking for accommodation providers that enable people to have the right to open and close their own front door and feel safe and secure in their own accommodation. We want to hear from providers who can show how their offer is sustainable and can be replicated by others.

People First

Are you a support service or project going the extra mile? People become homeless for a whole range of complex reasons. Helping someone out of homelessness is often about more than putting a roof over their head. This award celebrates projects or services that ensure the individuals you are supporting are at the centre of what you do.

We are looking for inclusive and compassionate services and projects providing the right support to meet individuals specific, diverse needs and aspirations and improve their wellbeing and can show that this is supporting them out of homelessness.

Prevention Into Action

Are you working hard to prevent homelessness? The best way to tackle homelessness is to stop it from happening in the first place, so we want to hear from services and projects committed to preventing homelessness from occurring in the first place or are preventing repeated periods of rough sleeping or homelessness from happening.

Prevention can take many forms, from high-quality advice and advocacy services to preventing people from ending up on the streets after being in the criminal justice system, care, or health services. Plus, education in schools, community interventions and much more. So, we are excited to hear from entrants from a broad range of projects taking an innovative approach to prevention. In preventing homelessness, cross-sector collaborative working is vital. So, we are looking for entries that show the power of joint working in improving outcomes.

Stronger Voice

Are you raising your voice to end homelessness for good? To get the lasting change we need to end homelessness, we need those in power to sit up and take notice and that only happens through speaking up.

This award recognises powerful voices using their knowledge, experience or passion to highlight homelessness. We are looking for entries that prove the impact this is having at either a local or national level. So, whether you are a person with lived experience of homelessness using your voice to change systems that are not working for people experiencing homelessness, or you are a group or organisation campaigning to shape policy, we want to hear from you.
