Supporting organisations to implement the Renters’ Rights Act 2026 with confidence

The Renters’ Rights Act (RRA) 2026 introduces the most significant changes to private renting in a generation. We help local authorities, housing organisations, voluntary sector partners and frontline teams understand the new duties, embed compliant practice, and support renters effectively through the transition.

Drawing on the detailed guidance within the Act and our experience supporting housing and homelessness services, this comprehensive training course aims to build confidence and strengthen practice.

Why does the Renters’ Rights Act matter?

The RRA 2026 reshapes the rights and responsibilities of renters, landlords and local authorities. Understanding the Act is essential for:

  • Ensuring staff give accurate, up‑to‑date advice
  • Reducing unlawful evictions and poor practice
  • Strengthening prevention work and early intervention
  • Improving outcomes for renters at risk of homelessness
  • Meeting statutory duties and avoiding compliance risks

The Act introduces major changes including:

  • Abolition of Section 21 and the move to periodic tenancies
  • New grounds for possession and strengthened notice requirements
  • A national Property Portal and landlord registration
  • Stronger enforcement powers for local authorities
  • New protections for families, survivors of domestic abuse, and people facing discrimination
  • Clearer rules on rent increases and rent repayment orders

These changes require organisations to update policies, retrain staff and adapt operational processes. Join us on this training to begin your journey.

Who is this training for?

  • Staff working with people at risk of homelessness
  • Local authorities
  • Housing associations
