This framework contains two self-reflection tools designed to support fidelity to the principles of Housing First in England.

Each Day Service should operate in line with its organisation’s mission and values, using clear guiding principles to ensure consistent and effective support. Homeless Link’s Principles for Day Services, developed with services across England, people with lived experience, Expert Link, and Housing Justice, provide a framework for effective practice.

Insights from discussions held within our Commissioners' Forum Community of Practice series, covering five good practice areas: co-production, addressing the increasing complexity of need of service users, finding buildings for services, substance misuse in commissioned services, and the impact of the Supported Housing (Regulation and Oversight) Act on commissioning.

This guide describes and gives good practice examples and approaches at each stage of the commissioning cycle, specifically for commissioning homelessness services.

These two briefings aim to help homelessness services to employ people with lived experience in the most constructive way possible that mutually benefits both the employer and employee.
