Poor nutrition is a significant challenge for people experiencing homelessness, and can lead to weakened immunity, delayed recovery from illness and risk of depression and anxiety.
By considering nutrition as part of homelessness support, services can improve the health and wellbeing of their clients, aiding recovery and move-on from homelessness.
On 31 March 2025, Homeless Link and Providence Row hosted a webinar on improving nutrition among people experiencing homelessness.
The session launches research that aims to enhance nutritional health and recovery among people experiencing homelessness and using drugs and alcohol, and which examines current food provision, and explores gaps and opportunities in access to food and nutrition. The webinar also outlines practical actions that homelessness staff can take to improve access to and awareness of healthy food and nutrition for the people they support.
