There are a number of links between homelessness and hoarding, with many individuals becoming homeless after being evicted due to a hoarding issue. Experiences of trauma and hoarding are also interlinked, with some people using their belongings as a 'safety blanket' and as a copying mechanism for past experiences.

In Episode 3 of Series 3 of the Going Beyond podcast, we are joined by Hannah Scott and Fraser MacKinnon from P3 Charity. Hannah and Fraser work in P3's hoarding teams in Buckinghamshire and Warwickshire. We discuss the reasons behind why someone might hoard and talk about the importance of using a person-centred approach when supporting individuals.
