Findings from our 2014 A High Cost to Pay report showed that sanctions disproportionally affect people experiencing homelessness. By working in partnership with the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and local Jobcentre Plus (JCP), the homelessness sector can support clients more effectively with their benefits claim, understand conditionality and reduce the likelihood of sanctions.
The Working Together Toolkit was updated in 2018 thanks to the commitment of DWP and Homeless Link's members to build on this good practice.
